Pastry Chef


Ella Pastry Chef Jane Anderson started her career off on the savory side of things. While attending American River College in 2005, Jane started at Paragary's Bar and Oven working pantry and making pizzas under the direction of Scott Rose. She then followed Scott to Spataro and began working the grill and saute stations. Eager to learn more, Jane began working at Mason's under Chef Phillip Wang.

When Wang decided to take a job opening a restaurant in Maui, Jane jumped at the opportunity. She then spent 3 years working at Merriman's Kapalua for James Beard nominated chef Peter Merriman and found her passion for baking.

In 2011, Jane made the decision to move back to Sacramento and began working for Ella Chef Rob Lind at Taylor's Kitchen as Jodie Chavious's Pastry Assistant. A year later, Chef Michael Thiemann brought Jane on as Pastry Chef at Ella Dining Room and Bar in 2012, where she is still creating fantastic seasonal and creative desserts with our team every day!
